KESD seeks a licensed special educator to fulfill the role at the Burke Town School, located in Burke, VT. This position provides direct instruction to students and consultation to classroom teachers serving learners with special needs. In addition to the consultative role, this position provides leadership in the facilitation  and development of effective individualized education programs (IEPs) and the coordination of related services designed to support student growth and achievement. The position requires applicants to possess a thorough understanding of special education law, cognitive/social emotional development, IEP development and classroom interventions within a tiered system of supportive instruction. Kingdom East School District (KESD) is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to administer and interpret cognitive, academic and social-emotional functioning assessments for the 2020-2021 school year. This position is an integral part of the special education evaluation team and collaborates closely with other evaluators, special educators, principals and classroom teachers to support the process of determining student eligibility for special education. The Psychologist also provides clinical supervision to school-based therapist in providing therapeutic intervention as part of a comprehensive system of student support. Successful candidates will possess advanced degrees in School Psychology and be eligible for licensure as a School Psychologist by the Vermont Agency of Education.

Kingdom East School District seeks a licensed Speech-language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services and interventions to students requiring language, articulation, voice and fluency therapy.  These services are provided one on one or in small groups, both within the classroom or as pull-out services. Kingdom East School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE School-Based Clinician to provide clinical mental health services to students in our schools.  The candidate will join the Kingdom East mental health team of other school-based clinicians, school psychologist, school-to-home coordinators, guidance counselors and school nurses.  The important and critical work of the school-based clinician includes preventative models, intervention for specific diagnoses, special education services, 504 services, Educational Support Team services and other models of school supports.  The candidate will be responsible for providing individual therapy and development of treatment plans, psychosocial evaluations and assessments, behavior planning, family work and consultation within the school setting with consistent opportunities for collaboration with teachers, school administrators and the Kingdom East mental health team.  Clinical Master’s degree required; licensure preferred. Enthusiasm and love of working with children is required. Experience with school and/or children’s mental health preferred.

We are seeking two enthusiastic, professional and dependable educators for this new position in our high quality Afterschool Programs for students in grades K-8.

The Assistant Site Coordinator will:

  • Provide in-person support to Group Leaders, Enrichment Instructors, and contracted activity personnel; 
  • Provide student supervision during all scheduled group activities;
  • Assist with student behavior planning and discipline matters as needed;
  • Assist Site Coordinator with student attendance database and forms;
  • Assist with planning, calendars, newsletters, and inventory tracking as needed;
  • Act as Substitute Site Coordinator for regularly scheduled Site Coordinator absences, as well as last unplanned absences as much as possible;

LNA Essential Functions and Duties

The Newark Street School, serving children in PreK- grade 8, announces the hiring of a 0.5 FTE Math and/or Literacy Intervention teacher. KESD seeks a licensed special educator to fulfill the role at the Sutton Village School, located in Sutton, VT. This position provides direct instruction to students and consultation to classroom teachers serving learners with special needs. In addition to the consultative role, this position provides leadership in the facilitation  and development of effective individualized education programs (IEPs) and the coordination of related services designed to support student growth and achievement. The position requires applicants to possess a thorough understanding of special education law, cognitive/social emotional development, IEP development and classroom interventions within a tiered system of supportive instruction. KESD Schools are extremely team-oriented and work under a Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also required. 

The Sutton Village School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast, Vermont.  We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students.  Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choice.

Kingdom East School District  has an anticipated opening for an Instructional Assistant to support students with instruction, accommodations and modifications of individualized education programs (IEPs) at the Sutton Village School. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be a team player and capable of following instructional direction as directed by the special educator. Candidates must successfully complete the ParaPro assessment. This is a full time position during the school day under the supervision of the principal and assigned special educator. Preference will be given to candidates with a post-secondary degree.  Background check, including fingerprinting required upon employment.
