The Burke Town School, serving children in PreK- grade 8, announces the hiring of a Literacy Intervention teacher. Candidates must be dynamic, high quality literacy leaders interested in joining a high energy PLC school. Responsibilities include both delivering explicit literacy intervention to small groups of students and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to strengthen their literacy program.  This literacy intervention teacher caseload is generally 12-16 students with a focus on students needing early literacy intervention in kindergarten and first grade. Second and third grade small group intervention is also a possibility.  Individual will work closely with school and SU level literacy coaches, and school literacy specialists.  

Experience with primary literacy strategies, workshop model, F&P, reading and writing units of study, Common Core, PLC collaboration, positive behavior interventions, formative assessments, LLI and/or Reading Recovery or other intervention programs and Responsive Classroom are a priority.  We seek creative, passionate teachers with a sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people while supporting teachers to improve in literacy instruction. This position provides direct instruction to students and consultation to classroom teachers serving learners with special needs. In addition to the consultative role, this position provides leadership in the facilitation  and development of effective individualized education programs (IEPs) and the coordination of related services designed to support student growth and achievement. The position requires applicants to possess a thorough understanding of special education law, cognitive/social emotional development, IEP development and classroom interventions within a tiered system of supportive instruction. Kingdom East School District (KESD) is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to administer and interpret cognitive, academic and social-emotional functioning assessments for the 2020-2021 school year. This position is an integral part of the special education evaluation team and collaborates closely with other evaluators, special educators, principals and classroom teachers to support the process of determining student eligibility for special education. The Psychologist also provides clinical supervision to school-based therapist in providing therapeutic intervention as part of a comprehensive system of student support. Successful candidates will possess advanced degrees in School Psychology and be eligible for licensure as a School Psychologist by the Vermont Agency of Education.

Kingdom East School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE School-Based Clinician to provide clinical mental health services to students in our schools.  The candidate will join the Kingdom East mental health team of other school-based clinicians, school psychologist, school-to-home coordinators, guidance counselors and school nurses.  The important and critical work of the school-based clinician includes preventative models, intervention for specific diagnoses, special education services, 504 services, Educational Support Team services and other models of school supports.  The candidate will be responsible for providing individual therapy and development of treatment plans, psychosocial evaluations and assessments, behavior planning, family work and consultation within the school setting with consistent opportunities for collaboration with teachers, school administrators and the Kingdom East mental health team.  Clinical Master’s degree required; licensure preferred. Enthusiasm and love of working with children is required. Experience with school and/or children’s mental health preferred.

This is a part time, school year position (16 hours per week) located at Miller’s Run School.  Typical on-site work hours are Monday through Thursday, 2:00pm-6:00pm.  Proficiency in, and/or willingness to learn, Google Docs and other computer programs required.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional and dependable educator for this new position in our high quality Afterschool Program for students in grades K-8.

The Assistant Site Coordinator will:

  • Provide in-person support to Group Leaders, Enrichment Instructors, and contracted activity personnel; 
  • Provide student supervision during all scheduled group activities;
  • Assist with student behavior planning and discipline matters as needed;
  • Assist Site Coordinator with student attendance database and forms;
  • Assist with planning, calendars, newsletters, and inventory tracking as needed;
