KESD seeks a licensed special educator to fulfill the role at the Burke Town School, located in Burke, VT. This position provides direct instruction to students and consultation to classroom teachers serving learners with special needs. In addition to the consultative role, this position provides leadership in the facilitation  and development of effective individualized education programs (IEPs) and the coordination of related services designed to support student growth and achievement. The position requires applicants to possess a thorough understanding of special education law, cognitive/social emotional development, IEP development and classroom interventions within a tiered system of supportive instruction. We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional and dependable educator for this new position in our high quality Afterschool Program for students in grades K-8.

The Assistant Site Coordinator will:

  • Provide in-person support to Group Leaders, Enrichment Instructors, and contracted activity personnel; 
  • Provide student supervision during all scheduled group activities;
  • Assist with student behavior planning and discipline matters as needed;
  • Assist Site Coordinator with student attendance database and forms;
  • Assist with planning, calendars, newsletters, and inventory tracking as needed;
  • Act as Substitute Site Coordinator for regularly scheduled Site Coordinator absences, as well as last unplanned absences as much as possible;
  • Follow 21st Century Community Learning Center grant requirements and school policies and procedures.

Kingdom East School District (KESD) is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to administer and interpret cognitive, academic and social-emotional functioning assessments for the 2020-2021 school year. This position is an integral part of the special education evaluation team and collaborates closely with other evaluators, special educators, principals and classroom teachers to support the process of determining student eligibility for special education. The Psychologist also provides clinical supervision to school-based therapist in providing therapeutic intervention as part of a comprehensive system of student support. Successful candidates will possess advanced degrees in School Psychology and be eligible for licensure as a School Psychologist by the Vermont Agency of Education.

School-Based Clinician

Kingdom East School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE School-Based Clinician to provide clinical mental health services to students in our schools.  The candidate will join the Kingdom East mental health team of other school-based clinicians, school psychologist, school-to-home coordinators, guidance counselors and school nurses.  The important and critical work of the school-based clinician includes preventative models, intervention for specific diagnoses, special education services, 504 services, Educational Support Team services and other models of school supports.  The candidate will be responsible for providing individual therapy and development of treatment plans, psychosocial evaluations and assessments, behavior planning, family work and consultation within the school setting with consistent opportunities for collaboration with teachers, school administrators and the Kingdom East mental health team.  Clinical Master’s degree required; licensure preferred. Enthusiasm and love of working with children is required. Experience with school and/or children’s mental health preferred.

This first year of a unique Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Adventure Program will provide students in grades K-8 the opportunity to learn STEM skills through engaging activities on Fridays after school from January through May.  This position will begin in September in order to plan and advertise the program through the months leading up to the January launch. 

Work hours are flexible from September through December.  Availability is required on Fridays from January through May from 2:00-6:00pm.  

This is an exciting opportunity to: 

*Provide meaningful opportunities for peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing about STEM activities and careers;

*Collaborate with community partners to create engaging both in-person and remote programming that links to the school day curriculum;

*Develop systems of monitoring and showcasing academic outcomes and student-led culmination projects;

*Work with a STEM Adventure Co-Coordinator to recruit, train and supervise Stem Adventure Staff;

*Develop a student leadership council and/or project;

*Meet regularly with the 21C Director, school principals, district science teachers and 21C Site Coordinators;

*Assess and adapt the program throughout its first year;

*Comply with all grant and school district requirements.

This is a part time position that runs from September through May (2021).  The hourly pay is $25, with approximately 145 hours total during the 7 month time frame: Sept-Dec (estimated 3 hrs/wk), Jan-May (estimated 5 hrs/wk, including Fridays 2:00-6:00pm).

The Newark Street School, serving children in PreK- grade 8, announces the hiring of a 0.5 FTE Math and/or Literacy Intervention teacher. Candidates must be dynamic, high quality math and/or literacy leaders interested in joining a high energy PLC school. Responsibilities include both delivering explicit math and/or literacy intervention to small groups of students and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to strengthen their math and/or literacy programs.  This intervention teacher caseload will be focused in grades K-5, but Middle School level intervention is also a possibility.  The individual will work closely with district level math/literacy coaches.
