Athlete Of The Week
Athlete of the Week - Sullivan Speer
Grade: 4th Grade
School: Lyndon
Sport: Cross Country
Fun Fact: I do a lot of sports that involve running.
Sullivan is an athlete who really just loves to run. He always wants to go further and faster and is quite competitive. His favorite part about running is that it energizes him. He likes to feel and be athletic and thinks it is a lot of fun! Sullivan is a very hard worker, a great teammate, and an awesome addition to the Lyndon Cross Country Team.
Coach's Corner
Coach’s Corner - Meet Coach Tamer Alamuddin
Team: Burke Cross Country
Years Coaching: 6 years (skiing and soccer), First year coaching cross country
Favorite Part: The kids! Enjoying a shared enthusiasm for an activity is great, and seeing the improvement over the course of a season both in that activity and a child’s general self-confidence.
Why Cross Country?: I did many sports when I was younger, and ran track and XC as more of an offshoot from that. Recently, I have been running for fun on the trails and running 5ks. My son has also gotten interested and with me working remotely all fall I was able to do it.
Fun Fact: I competed in the 1996 Alpine skiing world championships.
Other fun fact. I was born In Beirut Lebanon, and in 1984 was evacuated with my mom and brother by helicopter courtesy of the US Marines! Slept one night on the USS Guadalcanal before being flown to Cyprus.
