Literacy Interventionist Long-Term Substitute

Concord School, serving children in PreK- grade 8, is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Literacy Intervention teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Certified educator will provide supplemental/intervention support for students in kindergarten-grade 8.  Candidates must be dynamic, high quality literacy leaders interested in joining a high energy PLC school. Responsibilities include both delivering explicit literacy intervention to small groups of students in grades K-8 and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to strengthen their literacy program.  Individual will work closely with school and SU level literacy coaches, and school literacy specialists.

Experience with primary, elementary and middle level literacy strategies, workshop model, Fountas and Pinnell, reading and writing units of study, Common Core, PLC collaboration, positive behavior interventions, formative assessments, and Responsive Classroom are a  priority. We seek creative, passionate teachers with a sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people while supporting teachers to improve in literacy instruction. KEAP Afterschool Program Group Leader

Kingdom East School District is looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and creative Group Leaders for K–8 afterschool programs located at Burke Town School, Concord School, Gilman Middle School, Lunenburg Elementary School, Lyndon Town School and Newark Street School.

Anticipated Instructional Assistant

Kingdom East School District has an anticipated opening for an Instructional Assistant to support students with instruction, accommodations and modifications of individualized education programs (IEPs) at Lyndon Town School. PreSchool Special Ed Long Term Substitute

KESD is seeking applicants for a long-term substitute pre-school Special Educator to cover a 16- week leave of absence from November 1, 2018 through February 22, 2109.  The pre-school Special Educator is assigned to KESD schools and community pre-schools under the direction of the Student Services Director. This KESD serves the schools and other community sites in the towns of Burke, Concord, Gilman-Lunenberg, Lyndon, Newark, Sheffield, Sutton and Wheelock.

The preferred candidate will have experience in developing and implementing specialized instruction for preschools.  Applicants should demonstrate the ability to successfully develop and coordinate individualized education program, identify and evaluate developmental benchmarks within our preschool population and provide consultation to other teachers, parents, and care-providers.

Girls and Boys Basketball Coaches

Basketball Coaches needed for Middle School Girls and Boys teams.  Applicants should possess a background in basketball coaching and working with young people.  The KESD program stresses skills development, participation, and good sportsmanship. Season runs from late November to early March.

Kingdom East Basketball Program Athletic Director
  • Oversight and planning the budget for all KESD basketball teams and programs (this includes all teams that may play and practice at Lyndon, Sutton, and/or Millers Run Gyms).  
  • Kingdom East AD for Concord/Lunenburg will be through Concord school.
  • Registering and follow up for all training (such as first aid or concussion) required for coaches.  Communicating with the the VPA as needed.
  • Ordering materials, uniforms and equipment as needed.  Acting as a liaison between the building personnel and the coaching staff.  
  • Collecting and maintaining paperwork such as student physicals, registration and permission forms.  
  • Working with all principals and the After School Program as needed
  • Align all student athlete expectations, handbooks and programs.
  • Recruiting, hiring and supervising all boys’ and girls’ coaches for the middle school basketball programs in KESD, and communicating with human resources at Central Office.  
  • Scheduling games, practices, gym times, referees (for home games) and buses (for away games), on site coordinators for all home games.
  • Working with Assistant coordinator to develop coverage, building use, building oversight, scheduling, and parent and student contact.
  • Other duties as needed to successfully coordinate and direct the KESD basketball program and all teams.

Instructional Assistant Long-Term Substitute - Lunenburg School

The Lunenburg School is seeking a paraeducator to assist in our third-grade classroom. The position requires supporting the teachers instruction in math and literacy. Custodian

We are looking for a responsible individual to maintain and protect our facilities.  This position is full time. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, primarily afternoon and evenings during the school year and days during school vacations. The position includes customary cleaning and maintenance, including moving furniture, minor repairs and painting, snow removal in the winter, etc.  Physical endurance, an eye for detail and experience with cleaning equipment such as floor machines preferred, as well as flexibility for weekend special events.
