From the Principal
My name is Stacy Rice. This is my ninth year serving as the Burke Town School principal. I live here in West Burke with my husband of 20 years and our two children. Both of my children are enjoying high school and are alumni of the Burke Town School. In my free time I enjoy watching my children participate in their activities. I also enjoy gardening, mountain biking, skiing, reading, playing ice hockey, and hanging out with friends and family. I have two labradoodles named Lucy and Buck and chickens too!
Prior to becoming the Burke Town School principal, I taught middle and high school mathematics in both Maine and Vermont. I am currently a licensed educator for 5th-12th mathematics and am a licensed principal for grades preK-12. My undergraduate work was completed at the University of Maine at Farmington, majoring in secondary mathematics education. I received my master's in education from the University of Maine at Orono.
As the principal of the Burke Town School, I am committed to ensuring all students learn and live healthy, balanced lives. The Burke community and the Burke Town School staff are continuously supporting these commitments, educating each individual child and upholding high expectations. Please feel free to call, email, or stop into my office anytime.
Take Care, Stacy
