Temporary Interim Principal appointed at Sutton School

Lyndonville, VT – Rachel Robillard has been appointed on a temporary basis as the interim principal at Sutton School which is part of the Kingdom East School District.  The current principal, Ken Hayes is on medical leave.

Rachel Robillard received her bachelor’s in education from Lyndon State College in 2006. Her masters of science from the University of Vermont is anticipated in May 2019, In addition her principal licensure from the Upper Valley Educators Institute in Lebanon, NH is anticipated in June 2019.

Ms. Robillard has been in education since 2006 and has served in a number of roles including as a District mentoring coordinator, math and formative assessment coach and an elementary school teacher.  She has served on school and district committees and in multiple leadership capacities including school improvement, mathematics, report card, the crisis team and technology committees. She has been part of hiring and search teams.  Ms. Robillard brings a wealth of experience and passion to her leadership. She will support the faculty, staff, students and community until Mr. Hayes is able to return to Sutton School. Ms. Robillard will have a mentor peer principal, work closely with the Kingdom East Leadership team and the Superintendent of Schools and be in contact with Ken Hayes when needed.

Ms. Robillard lives in Sutton with her husband and two children.  Together they like to hike, mountain bike, ski, and frequent Crystal Lake in the summer.  Ms. Robillard shared, “I am honored to serve as the interim principal at Sutton School,” said Robillard.  “I am excited for the opportunity to support the dedicated staff in Sutton so they can continue to provide our community with an excellent place to educate our students.”

Superintendent Jennifer Botzojorns shared,  “We are lucky to have someone of Ms. Robillard’s expertise and calibur who is able to step in on short notice and support folks at Sutton School while their principal is on leave.  I hope everyone will let her know how she can serve the faculty, staff, students and families this spring.” Sutton School is part of the Kingdom East School District which has been in existence since July 1, 2018.  The District merged seven town school districts and eight communities including Burke, Concord, Lunenburg, Lyndon, Newark, Sutton, Sheffield, and Wheelock.
