ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE COMMITTEE

Board Committee Purposes & Assignments

Membership:

The Academic Excellence Committee should include the superintendent, Director of Innovation and Learning, Director of Educational Technology, and three to five (3-5) board members, and is chaired by one of the board members. 

Purpose:

To identify and review annual metrics of student academic progress and outcomes.

6. After School, Athletics, Summer Program 
7. Technology

Reporting:

The Academic Excellence Committee shall…

1. Hold a monthly public meeting 
2. The Committee will provide regular written reports to the full board for review and discussion,  and at least two presentations each year reviewing metrics identified as indicators of student progress.
3. The Committee will have publicly-warned meetings and published meeting minutes in compliance with VT Open Meeting Law

Limitation on Authority:

The Academic Excellence Committee has no authority other than to make proposals and recommendations to the Board as a whole. Informational requests requiring administrative resources or time shall be directed to the Superintendent or designee from the Chair of the Academic Excellence Committee.
