FACILITIES ANALYSIS FOR MILLER'S RUN SCHOOL

Below includes a summary of priorities from Facilities Manager interviews, Principal interviews, Staff & Student surveys, and general site observations.

PRIORITIES IDENTIFIED:

  • WINDOWS

    Window replacement at the 1975 area of the school building. Remainder of windows were installed in 2001.

  • SIGN

    Exterior sign upgrade.

  • CONTROLS

    Boiler controls repair/replacement for proper temperature control in student spaces.

  • GYM

    Improved sound system.

    Additional Equipment Storage so that vestibule remains clear.

  • RESTROOMS

    Upgrade Elementary Restrooms to single user rooms. Create (4) rooms from the existing (2) rooms.

  • WELLNESS

    Find space within the building to house a dedicated Self Regulation Room. Currently, this use occurs in the principal’s conference room which does not fit the purpose well.

WORK IN PROCESS AND/OR PLANNED FOR 2023:

01.   PRE-K: New fencing for the Pre-K play area.

02.  HEATING: Pellet Boiler Completion (in 2020).

03.  PARKING: Re-paving of the parking lot and increasing visitor safety by adding a sidewalk that would create a connection between the visitor parking and the school entry.

This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard, and for you to help determine the best plan for your school and district.
