Meet Our Music Teacher!

Sara Lewis

Sara Lewis is a K-8 and instrumental music teacher at Burke Town School and Sutton Village School within the Kingdom East District. She has been in the district since 2017 and loves working with the students at both of her schools. She has developed a thriving rock band program at Burke Town School that she is working on developing at Sutton as well. The Burke Rock Band performs at Panther meetings and community events in the Northeast Kingdom. Sara offers instrument lessons in guitar, keyboard, drums, brass, and strings. Through applying actively to grants she has secured a plethora of instruments for both of her school's music programs, including 15 keyboards, 20 guitars, 50 bucket drums, a full drum set, a PA system, and 3 microphones & stands. Sara has a background as a singer/songwriter and used to perform regularly in New York City before she moved to Vermont. She is still actively involved in a songwriter group at Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury and performs occasionally around Lyndonville.
